City Draw Away
By Martyn Sexton
City earned a well deserved point in a game effected by very strong winds at Jackie Bakers
The away team nearly went in front in the first few seconds, when straight from the kick off Archie Tennant and Josh Naylor linked up well, with Naylor forcing a good save, however some indecisive defending saw Ramsgate take an early lead. City playing against the wind, slowly took command and after 20 minutes they got the deserved equaliser, when a weaving run from Sam Ditton, found Dan Newton who slotted home from 20 yards. Patrick Higbee then snuffed out a home attack, and then found Kai Fordham, who's cross saw a Ditton header well saved. Just before the break Spencer Lela when on a strong run beating three players, before having his shot saved.
Straight after the break, Jude King hit a 25 yard piledriver, which the home keeper did well to turn around the post. The home keeper was in fine form saving a Fordham header, and two good shots from Ditton and Ben Wiebe-Williams. Lela then had another strong run saved, then the away stopper Joe Danton was called into action with two good saves, as the game wore on the wind was playing a major part with shots and passes going astray, however The home side nearly snatch victory, but Naylor was on hand to find a superb defensive header and the game finished all square
